An experienced family practitioner, James D. Tollman, MD, leads comprehensive medical staffing operations as the president and chief executive officer of Essex Inpatient Physicians in Boxford, Massachusetts. Since assuming this position in 2007, James D. Tollman, MD, has taken on additional responsibilities as co-founding partner/medical director of First Choice Community Medical Associates, founding partner of the Osler Medical Group, and president of the Chiron Medical Management Company.

Dr. Tollman maintains hospital privileges at several Massachusetts hospitals. He also holds active membership in medical organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Massachusetts Medical Directors Association.

A former infantry first lieutenant in the United States Army, Dr. James D. Tollman served in the Army National Guard as a captain in the Medical Corps while treating patients as a hospitalist. A native English speaker, he is also fluent in Spanish and conversational in German. When he isn’t working he enjoys bicycling and skiing.
